Freedom of Information

The Tribunal is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982, (the Act) and, as such, submissions made to the Tribunal may be accessed under the Act.

Where you believe that access to the information or documents would:

  • be an unreasonable disclosure of your or others personal information
  • adversely affect your or others business affairs
  • would breach confidentiality

you should clearly mark those parts of the documents at the time of delivery so that the Tribunal can take this into account when requests for access are made under the Act.

Appearances before the Tribunal

Submissions should indicate whether an appearance before the Tribunal is sought.  The Tribunal may request an appearance, but usually this is not the case.

Confidentiality

The Tribunal treats submissions in the strictest confidence. The Tribunal Secretariat should be advised when a matter has yet to be fully considered by the Government and/or if it has not been publicly announced.

Those making submissions should be aware that the Remuneration Tribunal is bound by the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
